The Aston Tavern - history of the build
The Aston Tavern was built in 1904 on Aston Hall Road, not far from the Church of St Peter & St Paul. It was a public house popular with Aston Villa fans, being that it is a few minutes away from Villa Park, as well as near Aston Hall & Park. After the Aston Expressway A38(M) was opened in 1972, the pub fell into a bit of a decline.
The pub had been derelict from approximately the mid 1990s until the mid 2010s.

When the King Edward public house of 1902 on the Lichfield Road was to be demolished (for the Advanced Manufacturing Hub), the Aston Tavern was bought by Chelle Property (in exchange for their former King Edward pub). The Aston Tavern was restored and reopened on the 23rd August 2014.
